Lying naked

Halfway in and out of the sheets

Halfway in fantasy

Between reality

Your sweat,

Your kisses,

And your saliva are drying

And evaporating off my skin.

Promised me something

Then flooded me with nothing.

Empty.

I know there’s something inside

Of you.

Let me dig a little deeper

Pull back the covers

Unwrap your skin

This could be perfect

If only you’d let me in.



Now the light is fading.

The hours are winding down.

Time we spent on each other

Wraps around our necks like a silk scarf

As soft as death.

We keep pulling tighter

Drawing our bodies in closer

To the center of it all

To the depths of destruction

To the place where we all fall.

How can it be so wrong

To love without a right.

Abusing a privilege

Denied to so many others

To careless to appreciate

Loneliness

Because that’s just what we need.

A kiss for every breath

A hand for every fall

An embrace for every tear

Someone to help you overcome

Your deepest, darkest, fear.

Someone to prove the meaning

Of your suffering.

Someone to keep you lonely.
