pay no mind to creaky knees

   and rusted elbows

pay no mind to bruised tailbones

   and cracked ribs

pay no mind to searing headaches

   and throbbing teeth

pay no mind to blurry eyes

   and stuffed ears 

the inferior body cries out for attention

vain to indulge it

tell it to be quiet and soldier on
