Countless times we were apart

I thought I gave you time

While you were still mine



I thought I could move on

And still stay strong

I thought it would be a piece of cake

With nothing to lose, Nothing at stake



I thought you were mine

Everytime you smiled the sun would shine

I thought when you cried

Happiness you needed and I tried



I thought we could make it work

Pain and misory, I didnt know could lurk

I thought forever was forever

I didnt know we couldnt be together
