I tried and I tried

Countless times I cried

I drank and tried to forget

I tried to drown the regret

I drank to cover

The fact I wanted you forever

I drank to hide my emotions

Which seemed as big as oceans

I did as I was asked to do

I fell deeply in love with you

Because there were nights you asked me to

Those were the times I thought you knew

I left it all and gave it away

I took a turn one day

You asked me to let you go

So I watched my inner light stop its glow

I was crushed and broken

So the next person I held on to every word spoken

For you I moved on

Crushing my one great phenomenon
