I hope you can see past my past
I know you’ve heard about all the girls that didn’t last
But why you worried about who came before you?
Yea I’ve broken a lot of hearts before I was ready to give mine away
But ….how can you judge me for those who weren’t worth making me stay?
And I get it; no one wants to be with a man that people label
“A player” …. However willing and able
I want to change your perception of me
Melt that Icebox that has replaced where your heart used to be
So that possibly, you can look at me a bit more passionately.
I CAN’T take BACK the choices I’ve made before you
However, I can choose to always adore you
Provide and protect and if necessary for you, I’d go to war too!
SEE… I want to be the reason why you don’t listen to the radio anymore
Because they play “our song” too much
And God willing……..I want to be the reason why you finally know what it feels like to trust…..
Because …..YOU’RE the reason why I stopped chasing skirts
And for all its worth,
Being that I’m becoming a better man,

But believe me,
