Walking slowly and carefully

towards the love of my life

my heart pounding away

faster and faster as I close in

my mind telling me to hurry

my heart echoing the thought

but I keep my steady pace

with sweeting palms and

clouded, teared up eyes

your eyes brighten with joy

at the meer sight of me

a tender smile grows in size

across your gentle, loving face

from my eyes a tear drops

gracefully rolling down

my pale, blushed cheek.

My father brushes it away

with great consideration

before replacing it with a kiss

he turns and faces you

taking my hand and

placing it into your loving one

we look into each others eyes

the spoken words unheard

another tear falls down my

cheek as I confess my love

my eyes never leaving yours

a breath catches in my throat

as I wait for your words to come

tears uncontrolably flowing,

a collasol smile crossing our faces

as you speak of love, family,

hope and our future together.

Finally we are able to

seal our loving pact

with a deep, loving kiss

and a gentle, warm embrace!
