Thank You, Donna, For the Wonderful Christmas Cookies

Poems to Donna

Thank you, Donna, for the wonderful Christmas cookies;
At the trait of being generous, I can tell you are not a rookie.
You have surely brightened my day;
And have given me a lot to say.
I have some news which of you may not have knowledge;
Next year, I am going back to college.
I will be a home schooler at the school of Germanna Community;
Where I might get a scholarship, for I cannot afford a hefty fee.
I will be studying English in the Liberal Arts;
Because, at English, I am very smart.
If I eventually have graduated;
I will persue at career which will make me elated.
I want to write poems for Hallmark.com;
It will make my heart sing a joyous song.
It is wonderful to have a future plan;
That may bring prosperity to myself and my man.
I may not have to be poor forever;
For, hopefully professors will find me clever.
I can write poetry about anything;
And I want to find out how much money I will bring;
To a family who barely survives;
Hopefully, I can achieve enough, so that we can thrive.
And, it's about time for a real job, because I am thirty-seven;
And after a long life of hell, I think that I deserve a little heaven.
This has been a very strange time of year;
And all the time, I crave a beer.
But, I must control it in order to have a future that is bright;
So, I don't have to worry about money day and night.
I may actually, in my life, be a success;
Because many of my years have been a disasterous mess.
But, it looks like things may be looking up;
So, I may always have money in my change cup.
I must be thankful for my talents;
For, it may eventually bring to my life financial balance.
How wonderful it will be to work doing something I love;
It seems like an idea which was sent from above.
So, Merry Christmas, Donna and Warren Heady;
Isn't it miraculous that to plan a bright future, I am ready?
