One day, son, you'll be a man; and with any luck;
You'll want to be just like your dad and drive a firetruck.
Some nice guys like to act tough; they say they wanted to be Batman;
Then, one day they grow up; they turn into a catman.
Some boys want to use feathers and tomahocks; some wear cowboys boots;
Then they grow up to be cool and wear policeman suits.
Your grandpa was an astronaut; he liked to fly in space;
He said he saw a UFO, but there was a silly smile on his face.
What will you be on Halloween?; I'll bet you'll be so scary;
A big monster with pointy teeth; so dark and brown and hairy.
What have you got there, my little boy; oh, it's a creepy crawler;
If you give me the bug for the science museum, I will give you a dollar.
It's Saturday; cartoons are on; you can sit and watch TV;
But, if you want to go out, you can play a game of catch with me.
Zoom, zoom goes your monster truck; you play with on the sidewalk;
With those big black tires, I'll bet it will climb a big rock.
"Roar" goes the T-Rex as he runs after the men;
Oh, no; there are not just one of him; behind him there are ten!
OOOOO, it's October; the ghosts are out at night;
They'll come through the neighbor's door, and give them a big fright!
You can be a little ghost and pretend that you are hiding; no one can see you when you climb a tree;
Not Daddy; not Mommy.
I see you drew a skeleton with many, many bones;
I'll bet that very late at night, he loudly screams and moans.
You made an evil goblin with a very scary head;
I hope I do not see his face tonight, when I go to bed.
I see you made a green goblin for your Halloween mask;
I'll help you cut out the eyes; it's not a simple task!
Lots of people want to fly high above the land;
You can pretend you're flying, too, with a paper airplane in your hand!
On Halloween night, it will be so neat; I know you love your treats;
And, oh, how yummy they will be when you eat all of your sweets.
If you were a tiny man, and you were trapped inside a maze;
I know you'd find your way out; it wouldn't take you days!
If you made a toy sword, and you were ready to battle;
I'm sure you'd fight the toy snake whenever it would rattle.
One is for sun; two is for moo; three is for tree;
Four is for door; five is for hive; six is for sticks; you are for me!
You make a lot of mountains, my son, with your colored blocks;
Then you go outside, and build them up with rocks!
You made a face with googly eyes;
Why don't you show it to Daddy; oh, it will be a surprise!
What is big and tall that you can make out of paper;
A skyscraper!
What is shaped like a diamond; and oh, my;
A kite that you can fly in the sky!
What is orange and round;
A basketball that you can bounce on the ground!
What squirts, and is fun when you're in the hot sun;
When it points at you, you run; it's a water gun!
Who is jolly with a beard of white?;
It's Santa Claus, who comes out in the night!
