Unsurpassed Acquaintance

Folder:
Friends

Preeminent Companion of mine

our bond is truly divine.

         You get my attention

         and put my mind into a dimension

         where there's no extension

         of worldly tension.

    Intertwine your fingers with my brown dexterities

    so I may lead you to a place where we'll crown

    our fond melodies.

                 Come with me into the night

                 so we can catch sight of

                 silver stars in fallen flight.

The silver stars fall in a drill

        while we sit upon a hill

                       and chill

         gazing at the twilight's spectacle

         of our union transcending into the unknown mystical.

   My attraction to you is locked in your mangled kinky hair

   and my love for you handles your soul with watchful care.

       A certain brown color bathed in light is your skin

              making me wonder what lies within.

A friendship with you I desired to create

but the end result was apparently sealed by Fate.

      The term "Best Friend" is an understatement to you

      because to me you are more than just a reference of "WHO."

  To me you are my Unsurpassed Acquaintance;

  the one who greets me with an unrivaled acceptance.

      On a platter, you offer me the best of both worlds;

           giving me the opportunity to taste your

             sensuality with a congenial swirl.

Unexcelled Confidant,

    do you feel my words performing the act of taunt.

        Don't my words convey to you anything that

        shines in your face like a rapper's bling?

                  Close I am with you

                    but closer I want to be with you.

As we chill

     upon a hill

        watching the silver star drill,

          you unexpectedly turn around and

          reveal to me an upside-down frown.

    Smiling, Smiling, Smiling

        at me you are indeed

         because this experience with me has

                 made you succeed.

          You just succeeded over your thoughts and

            determined that I was not worth the

                price tag of being lost.

Unsurpassed Acquaintance,

    you kiss my cheek and tell me that this one

    starry night will forever abide in your soul;

        fueling your genuine love for me.

       A trickling stream of tears roll down my face,

       hitting the ground and taking me into

       another place.

           This other place is called reality;

             the place I constantly escape

               from with thoughts of an

       Unsurpassed Acquaintance who doesn't exist.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem describes how I view the perfect
"friend with benefits." I dream about this
person and I long for this person, but they do
not exist. As a result, I search for this
person in the qualities of my surrounding peers.
