A Lie Paid Me Lots

I got homework to do,

That is to learn the tables of twelve to two,

And only after that I’ll get an Apple pie…

So I began by putting my sulky head in the book,

But nay can’t concentrate…

Momma is gonna cook,

And its pervading smell can’t agglomerate…

I can’t wait and should shirk,

Shirk my homework…

I gotta lie,

Lie to momma for an apple pie,

Finally I told a lie…

And devoured delicious Apple pie…

The next day I was to recite,

But couldn’t cos I didn’t learn and write…

My teacher punished me,

By keeping me out of the classroom,

And now my legs pain a lot and I gasp and pant and sigh,

And I promise ne’er will I lie…

And shun my work to stay out of the classroom…
