An old fashioned faded photograph
in a dusty frame
is sadly all that remains
of a handsome young lad
from the first world war
just after he proudly enlisted
A face now long forgotten
a photo no one wants
thrown away
along with his history
as though he never existed at all
bought on a second hand market stall
for 50 pence just for the frame.
