I shed a tear when first born

I shed a tear when I mourn

Another tear for an accident

Still another when things aren’t meant

Tears here and there for good and bad

Many tears when I am sad

I fight off tears when caught in emotion

Others flow at times of devotion

But the largest tears from my broken heart

Come when I think of us apart
