A hardened heart
made in to a wall
A nice thick shell
to prevent a fall
Never letting anyone peer in
Always hidden, even to closest friends
A dismal outlook
on knowledge of self
A skewed vision
sitting tidily on the shelf
Never to be hurt by anyone
Always safe, mind on the run
A shattered mirror
so no one can see
A different one
who she needs to be
Never admitting the truth to see
Is killing the soul, slowly but surely
