Locked away, this heart was so brave.
How many times could it love before being turned away?
Like a family dog becoming a stray-
roaming the streets night and day
finding temporary shelter to hide from the thunder and rain.
Oh how this dog used to fetch and play,
to bark at the cars and visitors come what may,
the one who loved unconditionally always living
in the moment of each precious memory,
living with love so jestfully.
Now this hearts grown cold
feeling like a burden when it sees the opportunity to
flatter another so carefully,
to readh out a hand for one last dance and live in serendipity.
But as this heart's aged it now lives caged.
Too many times it had run wild...
so strange- how something so fragile
could still beat in hopes to love again one day.
