We started at the barn just along the outskirts of the desert.
I was assigned to a horse named Dragonfly.
He stood about 17 hands and had a roached spiked mane.
There were ten of us together.
I wanted to stay a couple leads behind, but it seemed as though
Dragonfly wasnted to be in the front of the other horses.
He knew where we were going and was determined to walk up front, and soon enough
I was accompanied by two girls and one of the tour guys who came along this adventure.
We were kin with friendship over the past weeks we spent together.
We rode along the sand and gravel roads,
between fences and neighborhood homes.
The sky was bright and blue without a cloud in sight.
As we approached an area of more sand, it was obvious
we've reached the Saharah desert.
I looked to my friend ahead as my horse started to jog in place.
I said "Please don't tell me we just gallop from here!"
She laughed as she turned back and shouted
"If I didn't I'd be lying!"
And before I caught my breath to laugh,
she clicked her tongue and both our horses stepped into a full gallop.
That's when we rode across the desert, over the dunes, and towards the tea tent
where we would be able to see all three great pyramids- in all their majesty, while atop horseback.
What a life to live for memories such as this!
