Some days
the jet planes
defy all reality, defy all gravity
history's intricate inventions
taking off without digression.
Another parallel flight through the night,
another question. Passengers with ambitions
yet to be tested, watching cities with a
birds eye view, this flight is a moment passing through.
Other days, they are just jet planes-
landing, for another passenger to arrive home,
nobody to meet when their feet touch down,
sleeping eye’s open, to find nobody kindred around.
It’s only a matter of time to get back
to the way things were before the adventure
took their breath away. Passengers in hope of laughter.
Hollowed be thy lungs as they fall back
into reality, asphyxiated by gravity.
Now they must learn
how to breathe
all over again.
