She was on her way to work
driving on a backroad that day
early in the mornin
it was only 8
when a blink lasted a little too long
and the radio was playin that Nickleback song
"if today was your last day"
And when the truck came to a stop
she couldn't resist but to climb out
of the smoke and see
that she hit a telephone pole,
and with as large as it was it took down three more.
She called for help
so shocked to believe
there was any service
in this small town of green
and that's when she'd seen
a woman hollerin' with grieve.
Moments later the ambulance arrived
and boy, were they some cool medic guys
with tattoos on their sleeves,
rock music on, and playin hot potato
with the bag of saline.
Next thing she knows
doctors got a finger in front of her nose, asking
"am I holding up 1 or 3?"
her family surrounding her
just couldn't believe she walked away
without a bruise to be seen.
When they finally saw what happened to her truck-
they thought, man, that aint just luck!
That's a blessing from the big man above.
Now 8 years later with a message to the world,
a woman stands with the heart of a young girl,
a message that speaks
"I'm still here, I'm still me."
And oh' how the time goes on
you live you learn
you crash you burn
and no matter how hard it hurts within
the world still turns
your heart still yearns
For a love as strong as time carries on
to sing with grace to your favorite song
and be thankful for every next breath you take.
'Cus one day, life wont be the same
they'll want to see your face as they scream your name
wonderin why life has to be this way.
And oh' she got to see another day
change is the constant and here she stands today
tellin you what made her
this way.
And oh' she's got a love as big as the oceans run wide
a wildfire in her heart
and a reason to shine.
She's gonna be okay
She got to live another day.
