   I Dare Not



I dare not think of it

For I in shadow stand

And the light

May only reveal

The fallacy of it all.

I dare not dream of it

For upon awakening

I will know

That dreams cannot be grasped.

I dare not long for it

For if I do

I open the chasm

That is the endless void

Of despair.

But I dare not give up hope.
