Day in and day out
Shaking and praying
The sniper’s gun is off sight
When he tries to end their lives
In the sweltering desert of Iraq
With one wrong step anywhere
Landing them in a better place
Their unselfish acts of courage
Trying to make tomorrow
A better place than today.
