A New Beginning

Folder:
Personal (Hope)

A new dawn approaches,
but I can’t help staring
into the night.

The darkness can be so appealing,
especially when the light
can blind you.

A new beginning beckons
like the morning sun,
the promise of tomorrow.

But the past lingers,
a shadow stalking me,
preying on my weaknesses.

It knows where I’ve fallen,
and that I’m bound
to stumble again.

But I will not give into defeat;
I will not let it take me down
like it has before.

“If I’ve found a new beginning,
Why am I so hell-bent in living in the past?”
