Maxed Out

My expiration date is nearing,

and I’ve used up my reserves.

My debt is overdue;

I’m trying to find a way

to compensate for all I owe.

Then I hear you say:

“My grace period is never-ending.

My death was sufficient

to pay for your debt.

Your credit history has been erased;

your limit on my forgiveness

has been increased to maximum capacity.

I transferred the charges

against you to my son

who had a perfect credit score.

Don’t worry about reimbursement;

All I ask is that you return

the love I’ve given you

and pass it on to others."
