You are my safe place

where I'm free to be myself;

you don't reject my darkness

nor cower from my sorrow.

Your smile brings me more joy

than any other vista, 

the way your eyes light up

gives me so much peace.

And when everything else

makes me want to give up,

you remind me of your love

that transcends all my pain.
