I am known for 

being soft spoken.

I am familiar

with my low tone

being unheard

or ignored.

It hurts me to think 

that what I say

isn't worth 

listening to.

But I know,

deep in my heart,

that is not the truth.

There is power 

in my voice.

There is strength

in my words. 

And even if others

tend to disregard me,

I will not be hushed.
