It was one thing
to have men ogle pictures
of me looking my best.
I tried dozens of
angles and poses
until one met my standards.
But to have men
notice me in person
was a whole nother level.
When you said that you
saw me singing along,
you left me giddy.
And I can't deny
that I tried to catch
your eye every night.
When you looked at me
and came over to say hi,
I was over the moon.
Maybe for you it was
completely innocent,
but you made me feel good.
I needed that attention,
that eye-to-eye contact,
to give me some confidence.
