until you left me depleted.
I offered all of my smiles
and now only sadness remains.
I handed you my energy
until I was completely drained.
You said you would be here for me,
but you walked away.
You told me that
you couldn't help me.
And maybe you were right;
maybe only I can help myself.
I cannot save someone else
until I save myself.
I cannot love someone else
until I love myself.
So I am learning how to love
the girl in the mirror.
