Every morning dawn,
I awaken with purpose.
But when the night falls
so does my countenance.
When surrounded by the masses,
I can keep my composure.
When loneliness creeps in,
I become afraid of what's inside.
It's so much easier
to be depressed.
I have to choose joy
every day of my life.
I have to maintain a smile
and hope it seeps into my bones.
