Veritatem

The internet is a funny place
It has yours, ours, and Myspace
You can read books, buy books, Facebook
You can watch people fall, fly, Tumble
You can play childhood games there
Pacman, racecars, Foresquare

The Internet is much like the Earth
With Bays and Amazons, so large, dispersed
There is always a Cat around the corner or a Tweet in the air
It's hard to dispute it, easy to compare
The Internet has what the World has
But is it fair?

Is it right that people today
Sit in front of a screen and call that 'play'?
The Earth is sad we no longer see its appeal
The World has what the internet has, but for real
I can hide behind my Firewalls and look at a Flickr of the moon
But I would rather Shutdown my system, step outside and swoon
At the true, actual beauty of the World beyond my bedroom
