The Jungle on Fire

There once was a beautiful jungle where peace, variety and life ruled. All animals, plants and land coexisted and lived in harmony respecting the circle of life and the world’s order. The tiger was the great king of the jungle and all creatures respected him because even though he was the most powerful creature in the jungle he only ate when it was necessary and respected other creatures lives and their importance to the world.

From the tinniest ant to the biggest elephant all creatures loved each other and made the world stronger by embracing their differences. Insects would take care of the land where other animals got their food from. These animal grew big and provided food for predators that protected the land.  All of them living in harmony.

One day snake was having a meal with crocodile, they were talking about how powerful they were and how strong their bites could be, until at one point the snake felt so superior that he said.

“ I don’t understand why Tiger is king of the jungle, yes, his bite is strong but he lacks the venom I have”

“he is king because he protects the valance of nature” the crocodile said

“valance is overrated, all this variety make’s us weaker, I will overrule the Tiger, I will make a jungle like it should be…. A Better one and a stronger one”

So snake crawled into the tiger´s bed and bit him in his sleep killing him unfairly for the first time in nature´s history.

“Now I´m king” Snake said and he brought all creatures to a big meeting

“All small creatures must leave the Jungle, you are not as powerful as us and are ruining our world… tomorrow you must be gone, there is a dessert up north” Snake said.

Small creatures did as they were told and by a matter of days they were all dead because of their new dry home. As time passed in the jungle, big animals started dyeing because there was no food for them anymore, all the small animals where gone and days latter, the big ones too.

“There are no other animals is just you and me. Is the jungle better this way?” the crocodile asked Snake

“Yes, but I would be happier if all this plants were gone too, they take too much of my space, and they don´t even move nor talk”

Then he set the plants and trees on fire.

As sky turned red; he started to notice that now, even the crocodile, was about to die from starvation

“What do you think you are doing crocodile? We are powerful and strong we can´t die. Said the snake

“Yes we were, but now that we don´t have anything to eat we are weak. Since all the small and weak animals left everything went bad”

The crocodile died, and the only animal left was snake who was starving and too weak to run away from the flames.

Moral: Diversity is something essential to all communities, and the team work is what makes us powerful never being alone.
