A Beach Scene

The water glistened like a jewel

Reflecting the blue sky above

And the quiet wind was cool

As it lifted the dove

Way up into the sky

Where it was free to fly

It sang of distant shores

I have never seen before

Who knew if I would see

All that the dove had

As he flew o’er the sea

To a distant land

I walked the golden sand

And lifted a pale hand

Towards the silver streaked sky

And watched the dove fly

The trees whistled lightly,

Telling their old tales

The waves crashed softly,

And I watched all the whales

Jump and sing together

And I watched a lone feather

Float down to the Earth

Showing it’s true worth

You see,

The beauty of the Earth

Cannot have a price,

It has no tangible worth

DON’T make me say it twice

A day that is sunny,

Cannot be bought with money

And a quiet day on the shore

Can’t be found in a store

And so as

The water glistened like a jewel

Reflecting the blue sky above

And the quiet wind was cool

As it lifted the dove

Way up into the sky

Where it was free to fly

It sang of distant shores

I have never seen before
