Time consumes.... everything
every joy
every woe
chewed up in its gasping maw
the profane beast discards everything
leaving piles of rubbish
to nail and stitch together some semblance of what they once were
just when composure is gained time intervens and eats it all again
as it sees fit to destroy with every process
the friendliest monster in perpetual motion
crumbling away every truth and facade
every bitter end
and sweet beginning
birth and death both victims of time
my own breath may falter in its inevitability
no matter
only in stopping the beast can all pain be released
such things are not as easy as pulling plugs
