The little blue bird

Thirteen years ago the council of Gods decided to give life to a strange planet name Earth. This planet was different from others because it was filled with oceans, lakes, rivers, fertile green valleys, mountains and blue skies. The council decided to start by giving life to little living creatures. The Gods wanted to be an equal and happy world. “We should start by deciding what creatures should live first” said one God. The first God reply “We should give life to red birds, so the blue skies can be filled”. Suddenly the second God say out loud “The green valleys should be filled with squirrels, so they can make trees grow up high”. The third God say “The great rivers, lakes and oceans must be filled with fishes, so they can swim across the world”. The Gods give live to the red birds, the squirrels and the fishes. But, then a wise God made a request by saying “We should also give life to a blue bird, if you want an equal world we should test all your living creatures and prove if they can live in harmony”. After hours of discussing this matter, they decided that they were going to give life to only one blue bird.

On Earth, the little blue bird found himself alone. He decided to search for company so he went to talk to the red birds; he notices they fly like him. They were singing and when he approaches to them they start laughing because he was an ugly bird compared to their bright red feathers. The little blue bird felt lonely so he decided to talk to the squirrels; he notices they also live in trees like him. They were eating and when the blue bird approached to them the squirrels started throwing nuts at him because they were jealous that he could fly. The little blue bird felt sad so he decided to talk to the fishes; he noticed they also hated being alone. They were playing and when he approaches to them, they ignored him because they couldn’t understand what he was saying due to the water blocking the noise. After spending some time alone the little blue bird realized that he doesn’t need to fit in, he just needs to lean how to communicate with others. The day after he taught the red birds how to sing a different song, he thought the squirrel how to search for the biggest nuts, and at last he taught the fish how to jump over the water so they could listen to other animals. The little blue bird felt happy, because now he is accepted by other the way he is and not by the way he has to be.

The gods noticed that even though the little blue bird was lonely he was happy with himself knowing that he was unique, they understood that its not about making everybody equal and with the same personality, but how to learn to live in harmony with each other. It was in that moment that they decided to give life to other species to live in harmony with each other and the world.
