Leaning closer, death strained voice on ears
Desires screaming for just today
Remembering painless yesteryears
Not wanting to simply fade away
Growing in childhood dreams
Running through fields of wildflower
Birthday parties, delighted screams
Time fades this memory hour
Teenage years were just a blast
Remembering all she thought was known
Caught up in the shards of past
Never ceasing until seeds were sown
Falling stars pelt the earth as tears
With life, honesty and wisdom came
Too late wondering her fears
Getting caught up in the blame
Envying memories of the past
Keeping lessons of today
Into youthful sleep at last
Bargaining price she has to pay
