Do you?

Your snipes cut through like shards of glass,

gauging chunks of flesh on unseen hooks,

tearing me up, pulling me apart

away from my body and my soul.

Your arm that once protected me

within your peaceful sanctuary,

casts me now over smouldering coals

with anger and disdain.

One step ahead as I dance my moves,

deftlike over burning embers,

scorching and nagging at my skin,

ever driving home your point.

Desperate to rest my aching bones

but still I swerve and twist, while

pain shoots through my troubled brain.

You say you love me

Do you?
