May Trump Pass The Baton With Civility

May Trump pass the baton
With civility
To Joe Biden,
Oh how we long for Bush and Obama
Oh, how we miss the times
When civility reigned surpreme,
Watched the baton passed with a smile
Before Air Force One
Took former off into the sunset
And presidential escort
Took new one to the castle

Ah, yes, that moment
When loving memories mingled
With future joys
Of the mass slaughter
Of helpless people overseas
Upon their order

Please, Please,
Please, may Trump pass the baton
With civility
To Joe Biden,
Oh, that'll surely fix the problem
Cause we can't stomach monsters
Wearing such an ugly face
Please, Trump, one more lie,
This one for us

I really admire your skill

I really admire your skill And insight here, dear poet. All the world's a stage, isn't it?! Some liken themselves to great puppet mastery, practice old techniques of Hegalian dielectrics and the oldie but a goodie, devide and conquer. I don't understand why people don't see that the two sides are always the same coin.  You know why the universe is infinite? Because it's ever changing. Insanity is repetitive. It's a big club and we're not in it. Personally, I'm ok with that.

Blessings to you, sir, and Merry Christmas

I am okay not being in the club, either. I'd just rather see the club shutter it's doors. I'm sure you feel the same.

Thank you for the kind compliment, and of course your wise input. Ironically, "why" is the baffled cry of a person who knows too much.

May Trump pass the baton With civility To Joe Biden,

Why should he. Old sneaky Joe stole the election.

Oh, the reality or fiction of that (of which I have no decisive opinion, as I figure the ruling class always gets their man regardless) isn't really what the poem was hitting at. It was more about the popular longing for illusion. Perhaps I failed at my task. But thank you for reading and leaving your thoughts, no matter.

Ah, That puts a different slant on the poem.

So subtle I did not see it.

The poem is not a failure in any way.

And your proof?

And your proof?  But imagine how, in this day and age of enormous record keeping, computer checks and balance, how much power, cunning, and shrewd machination a vote stealer would have to command to accomplish this.  It is a Herculean task (Uncle, that alludes to the Argonautica by Apollonis Rhodius), and the candidate---if he did achieve this kind of manipulation---probably ought to be President by deferral.

Do you just follow me around.

There is something seriously wrong with you,
