Wake Up Call: Shawn's Poem

Folder:
Dedications

I died yesterday; I’ve got things to do

I’ve got something to say, like how I feel about you

You said you thought about me all the time

That a day doesn’t go by when I’m not on your mind

If this is what you mean, and you claim it to be true

Then there are some things I can say about you

You sat and complained about what happened to me

Now I’m dead and I’m cold underneath

The ground and it’s hard to let it all out

‘Cause I’m crying and dying to get my piece out

You lied, never tried, you said you’d be by my side

You could have helped me, saved me, spared my life

Now it’s OVER, it’s done, I’m gone in a hole

You sat and complained, you could have saved my soul

It’s true what I say, my blood’s in the grass

Cause you decided to talk and sit on your lazy ass

You could have done something good to help

Shout my name or make something to sell

There’s some kid out there and no one can find him

Don’t make the same mistake, get off your butt and go find him

You can save him from destruction; you can save his soul

So he won’t end up like me, six feet deep inside a hole

Don’t sit and cry a river, walk a mile if you have to.

If you live far away, pass the message so it can get through

To all the people who can clearly understand

That at times it’s necessary to take a fighting stand

So get of your butt and make it right

This kid’s in a dangerous fight for his life

This time something better happen, and you better be true

Cause if you don’t that kid will send this message to you too.

See ya
