Tom and Kat were dating. They had been best
friends for a while, but now they where giving it a chance. Tom was at Austin majoring
in Petroleum engineering and Kat was at her senior year of high school. Both
families knew each other but Kat´s mother wasn´t very thrilled by the fact that
Kat was getting serious with Tom. This forced Kat to sometimes lie about where
she was going.
It was a regular Sunday day and it was a
perfect date day for Tom and Kat. Tom wanted to pick up Kat but he didn´t get
his mom´s car. Easily for Kat, she decided to be the driver for the day and omitted
the part of seeing Tom that day to her mother. The day went smoothly, but for
some mysterious way, Kat had a bad feeling about something. That kind of
feeling you know something misfortunate will happen to you and it will ruin
your day. Tom and Kat decided to get some dinner; they watched a soccer game,
and decided to go home because it was getting kind of late. Kat was always told
she was an awful driver but she thought she was a terrific one . That
particular night ,the traffic was horrible so they decided to take a shortcut through
the residencies area. It was really dark, the streets lights weren´t working at
all and no cars were seen. Kat and Tom were singing and laughing but suddenly Kat
saw a stop sign. She thought, “maybe if I speed I could get pass the other car“.
A car was approaching in the opposite side. Oh Boy, she was wrong. The car impacted
Kat´s car and it spinned and spinned. The last thing Kat remembers was hitting
the break and staying there in shock. In the dark, a silluette approached, a
very short lady was screaming at Kat.
-You stupid
girl, why you didn´t stop.
-Well Ma´am
sorry, just let me get out of the car first.
-You stupid
girl, you stupid girl, how do I suppose to get to work; my car is my life, you
stupid girl.
-Just let
me call my father, please I’m really really sorry.
-Give me
your phone, mine has no credit, come on, come on, I don´t care about you, you
destroyed my life
-Ma´ am
your car is fine; I just broke your license plate and that it.
-You´ll see
stupid girl, you´ ll pay my turkey for Christmas.
Kat was
really scared, but Tom was a different story, he was laughing so loud everyone
noticed.
-What the
hell are you laughing about, this lady is crazy and you are only one laughing.
-You have
the worst luck of all time Kat.
Kat had to
call her parents and for her dismay all the family arrived. Everyone there was
giving all kinds of fight, but everyone agreed on something; the woman was
crazy. The insurance guys tried to get this woman in her five senses by
explaining all the paperwork. The woman desperation of getting money was so big
that she threw herself to Kat´s car and stayed there for an hour claiming they
needed her to pay all her expenses.
-You´ll pay
my child´s college. This car is my life and you´ll make me loose tons of money.
Tom in the
meantime was being silent but had a hidden smile. Kat saw this and approached.
-Come on,
say the joke.
-Knock;
knock, who´s there, you being robbed by the crazy woman.
-Knock
knock, who´s there, you being a bad driver.
-Knock
Knock, who´s there, you being a female driver.
In the middle of the fuss, Kat´s sister
saw the woman license plate on the Street and something caught her attention.
She realized the perfect opportunity of getting out of all this mess. The
license plate was of last year by result, expired. The crazy woman being told
this realized her mission failed.
-Oh dear child, Oh dear child, I´m so sorry. I have
money, don´t you worry.
At the end of the night Tom was still laughing
of the situation, but Kat got her revenge. Tom crashed Kat´s garage in front of
her parents and destroyed all her backyard the following year.
-Knock; knock.
Who´s there;
You paying my garage for the rest of the year.
