My grandfather's car.

My grandfather kept his 98 grand marquis in the garage, the paint always shining and the tires and rims always clean. The car was always parked , it was rare the ocassion that my grandfather took it out for a drive, but there it was. It didn't matter whether it was raining , cold or really hot outside , the car rarely left the driveway. It has very low mileage, around 65,000 for a car that's almost 14 years old, it's pretty amazing. That car has history in our famiy , my uncle got married in that car , and it was the hobby that maintain maintain my grandfather busy after he retired from work. It's really an amazing car, a powerful eight cylinder under the hood that produced a pretty nice horsepower. All his life the car has been treated with really good care, wax and polish once a month , despite the years it has it's paint looks better than a recent car. We can say it's the excuse of my grandfather to get away of is house, every now and then he takes the car for oil change and maintance. Despite the economical crisis there been ,and recesions that had overcome the car was probably the last thing he would sell. Nowadays every time I go to my grandfather's house I try to start the engine , so it dosen't go bad , for being so much time without use. Me and my family had done long trips in that car , days and days of long traveling , from Monterrey to Mexico city as well to Houston and Austin. I have a deep connection with this car, since I have memory this car has been there. It's really amazing how it has never been chrashed, it have had the typical scratch here or there, but never severevly damaged, although every detail was later fixed. The car hasnbeen driven almost by all of the family members. Now that my grandfather is sick, and has been hospitalized many times the past months, some family members talked about selling the car. I hope this action dosen't come to an end, because this car means a lot to him , incluiding his pride. Although he is too old to drive, the car represents more than just a vehicle. I am sure that if my grandfather was stilling strong and full of energy as he used to be few months ago, he would definelty be waxing and cleaning the car, as he spemt many years. Now is my task to maintain the car, and every once in a while, I drive and my grandfather just sits in the passenger seat and I take him anywhere he needs to go.
