I look into the eyes and see

The pain that once lived there

And knowing this, how care you be

So reckless in my care?



I see inside your soul and know

The hurt that tore you apart

And if I said "I told you so"

It'd only break your heart



How can you do the things you do

Knowing how things will be

How can you be without a clue

To how very much you hurt me



Everything I do for you

I do with all my love

Every time the hurt is new

The noose tightens from above



How can I let this all go on?

How do I hold back my fears?

With each and every coming dawn

I learn to hold back my tears



Because every time you cut yourself

Deep down inside I bleed

And whether it's for shame or wealth

It's now the life I lead



No matter what I'll still be here

And even if you don't see

You'll always have at least one deaf ear

So I'll just have to leave you be
