I’m old enough to bleed now
So I’m old enough to breed
Old enough to show you how
A man relieves his needs
I’m old enough to bleed
Just enough to realize this:
I’m old enough to stick this tampon
Through my lower lips
I’m old enough to peek
And I know I should be sure
I’m old enough to know if
Daddy left us for a whore
I’m old enough to drink
And I’m old enough to fight
Old enough for kissing
And I’m old enough to try
I’m old enough to plead
And I’m old enough to beg
I’m old enough to let a man
Feel up between my legs
I’m old enough to bleed
I’m old enough to breed
I’m old enough to raise my chin
And get down on my knees
Old enough to flaunt
And I’m old enough to tease
I’m old enough to beat upon
Your nasty fucking meat
I’m old enough to bleed
I’m old enough to breed
I’m old enough to swallow
And I’m old enough to scream
Old enough to snap
Old enough to run
Old enough for acting up
And talking back to some
I’m old enough to freak
Old enough for fun
I’m old enough to love and leave
A man after he comes
I’m old enough to bleed
I’m old enough to breed
I’m old enough to grab a gun
And end it where I please
This poem
is in the tradition of that genre called “confessional poetry”,
Your work portrays the angst of a fighter with chip on your shoulder.
And the insight of an artist with a true blue vision of the world around her.
How did you express it in your expose.
“Skinny Love”,
We groaned with the sway of the hammock and hummed with the cicadas. Our sighs dripped with honey from the beehives in the backyard. Summer never left us lonely.”
Sometimes the best part of a poem is the anticipation of the next line you never leave your audience wanting.
Peace
Dylan
I truly hope that someday you find a piece of your own peace.

this is fucking absolutely
this is fucking absolutely brilliant. it has like a 90's (music) kind of anger and almost sarcasm to it. this is just great.
