I have tried many times
To put this into words
No matter of the rhyme
The feelings go unheard.
My heart aches
From the loves before
My soul breaks
From the slamming door.
You pieced me together
Very little but I am alive
I never want another
So, into your sea, I dive.
I know you were in pain
The hurt too much to bear
The image you maintain
But did you know I care?
We've both been beat
Horridly abused in past
It doesn't have to repeat
We can make this last.
Come into my arms
Let me shelter you
Keep you safe from harm
And simply love you.
Come to me tonight
Let me care for your scars
Make you alright
Fix you up like an old car.
Let me heal you until you can fly
Hoping you'll stay with me
I never want to say good-bye
I believe we're meant to be.
