On An Old Pizza Box

She walks away with tears in her eyes

With a pen in her pale hands

Rain washing away the make up

She doesn't quite understand.

She looks up at the sky "God why me?"

Looks back down as she walks alone

Wondering why it's come to this

She doesn't know how to carry on

She tries to find comfort in her own words

She doesn't know where to go

It seems she's been lost for so long

She watches the as the wind blows.

She sits down and writes on an old pizza box

"The devil made me do it."

She knew no one would miss her

No one would know to forget.

She killed herself that night

Took a blade to her fair skin

Everyone was to blame

For this life that's come to an end.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I tried to paint a picture in your mind of the scenery that's painted in my mind.  It's a city at night with rain pouring down, only thing seen moving is the girl walking.  She looks as if She is about 16 or 17.  She just had a big fight with her boyfriend, and her parents don't want her anymore.  She doesn't have anywhere to go and she's lost the faith of a better tomorrow, so she kills herself and writes her suicide note on an old pizza box she sees int the trash.  Kind of a weird story of why this came to me.  Um.  Big fight with Jason, which didn't happen yet but I know it will.  Listening to depressing music after something dramatic happening is never a good result, but it makes one damn good poem.  Besides, who else writes a poem with an old pizza box in it?
