The Wonder In Your Eyes

The monster walks amongst your will,

It's a wonder why you keep it still.

Once again through clouding skies,

I see the wonder in your eyes.

You do not know just how to act,

You do not see the frightening fact.

The eerie tremble within you lies,

I see the wonder in your eyes.

Your heart beats through, I see your sweat.

I'm the enemy you've not seen yet.

And through the everlasting cries,

I see the wonder in your eyes.

Your hair rises, you hit the ground.

You look up hoping, the choking sound.

I smile, watching, as your soul flies,

I see the wonder in your eyes.

The Specter.  The Wraith.  The Fallen Son,

The now.  The place.  Your time is done.

You fail to see your own demise,

I see the wonder in your eyes.

Sullenly spoken words appear.

Your own conscience do you jeer.

You played the fool who thought was wise,

I see the wonder in your eyes.

Shadows creep and crawl in stealth.

Hiding all and any wealth.

You look up with your surprise,

I see the wonder in your eyes.

Sleep well within your earthly grave.

No rest for the soul they did not save.

The monks, the priests, the idle size,

Foretold the wonder in their eyes.
