When they crashed I did not cry
I am not a terrorist
I am an American who holds strong
Does not cry when he is down
Stands up for his right to fight
Fight against those who do me harm
No I did not cry when they fell down
Yet I sat and watched with utter disgust
I thought about life and what was next
2 years down life has still not changed
People are still pissing and moaning
Over everything that has happened
It's time we let it go and live our lives
With our own lives ahead of us
Too much prejudice before and after
People killing, for racial reasons
Not considered racism when against an Arab
Racism is down against blacks
No one noticed the hate shift
Too much blinded from our view
I did not cry that they fell or burned
I felt bad for those inside
I'm sorry for the men and women
I did not cry I just held my head high
Knowing we would make it through
this is amazing, brett. (hehe just couldnt help myself not read one of ur wonderous poems) i like how it sorta rhymes in the beginning, sorta stops in the body of ur poem, and then quickly ends the poem. this is so cool. and i share your pain bout racism, etc.
