Soul Bound

Is your own ego worth the price it was sold?

Trading your soul for ephemeral gold

Wisdom buried deep as Mother Earth is old

Just going with the punches like a river let 'em roll

You glowin' and you showin' but your soul is hella cold

Dealt a bad hand, only option's to fold

All the rest broken, now you're just a lone soul

Bottom of Achilles' heel from tales long told

Neon signs you seeing many miles down the road

But you acting high and mighty, feasting on toads

Poison's in the dose, grandiose is the most

Ruthlessness is truth within their faux-prose

Open 2 doors and then 4 more close

Second order bores to find the Morse code

Unloading all my thoughts and I'm in poem mode

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is my first poem, so its probably not that good. Constructive criticism is much appreciated.
