I have spent my winter evenings
tillering these limbs, meticulously,
from grip to tip. 

Made of the finest wood,
            Maclura Pomifera,
without a knot from nock to nock,
a reinforced backing of sinew
reflexes its strong arms.

Drawing 50lbs at 28 inches
allows for the sharpest cast,
able to pierce a target
which a pistol cannot.
