Dying Sun, Pregnant Moon
I write inside my mind while I drive
but forget it’s existence the next instant
Escaping the concrete city
in order to breathe freely
within the trees and
begin to see the full moon
rise behind my eyes while
silently the sun escapes away with the day
Bats flying in the evening sky
gnats, mosquitoes
a couple in a canoe paddling idly by
the fish and I swim in the milky twilight
stars begin to cover the sky
the moon giving birth to the night
as the sun dies in the fire
the horizon is bright
Is my mind lying to my eyes or am I right?
am I seeing what you can’t see,
what you couldn’t believe
or am I dying?
