Hollow Shadows
Where on Earth is the World today?
Friends, you do escape me
You’ve thoughtfully forgotten the milky sunlight,
Instead you spend dissonant lingerings off
where poems come from
You stand stranded amongst grey still seas,
Withering away the seamless times that bind
these wondering wanderers to the suicidal tides
Your shallow haunted voices shapelessly defacing memories,
Fabricated, recreated history plagues your rotten wroughts
with a dirty flame
You ignite eternal sighs without a light,
Blindly hiding your eyes from the frozen shadows
of divided minds
You gawk at mirrors mocking your appearance,
Desperately scraping your face, erase, and
disappear into the silence
You’re singing silent tri-tone sirens,
Enticing, inviting, and exciting the tyrants who’ve
fallen solemn on stoned streets of riots
You flood my pencil tip and drip
drip
drip
and R.I.P. these empty pages away
