War is born
Out of hate that is taught
And yet we give that
Not a second thought
The bittersweet
Truth of our reality is
We are what we believe
We believe in hate
So we live in it
And trust me our children
Are not better off for it
We need to teach them to read
To actually see
What under the surface lies
Instead of to judge
Based on what they first
See with their eyes
An eye for an eye
Has done nothing
But leave most of society blind
While the rest of us
Spend our time
Just wondering why
We need to educate
And no longer teach hate
Learn to tolerate
And for our own sakes
Learn from one another
And work together
To make all our futures better
