Faded dreams 
And false prophecies
Once seemed 
Fated to be
Nothing ever was 
Or ever is
What it seems
Broken society
Blood lined streets
Where people once marched
In the name of peace
Forever tainted 
By the hate and lies
Of the elected enemies
Nothing is heard now
As the world in which
We used to live sadly sleeps

Of the fallen children

The mothers who loved them
Families destroyed
Hate used as scapegoat decoys
As our leaders look on with joy

The forsaken 

And taken

In ways so blatant
It's enough 
To make even
The strongest among us
Up and break
Haunt our dreams
Forever in our
Toxicity filled memories
We refused to see
Until it was too late
And we were swallowed up
Over and over again
By our own insanity and hate

That in the end 
Was what finally took
All of us away
