Depression surrounds me
Wraps me up
And hugs me tight
Like a familiar blanket

I have nightmares 
About at night
I try to fight it
But soon give up
It's a fight 
I've fought
Since I was young
And have yet to win

In the darkness

Trying to fight
And find the light
That will set me free
So I can finally be me

Feverish and desperate
Fighting personal demons
Vicious and violent
They thrive on this
Screaming to myself
It's all nonsense
